Arts & Book

From an intense desire for beauty and a constant search for balance between nature and culture, Elisabeth De Sloovere has been drawing her ready-to-wear collection SABETH for more than 35 years.
Herman Van den Broecke has always remained a painter pur sang and has maintained his own strong gestural character. He describes his sculptures as floating "between toy and obstacle".
The sense of connection and the surprisingly similar aspects of their lives and inspirations, albeit from very different disciplines, made them decide to create a book together.
The book therefore gives a unique insight into the work and world of two passionate people, 'wounded' in their biotope.

The book also includes the work of Peter De Cleyn, Elisabeth's husband. Peter makes objects in ceramics that fit very well with the lifestyle in which the book was created.
